What are your environmental / social initiatives?

All RUNA products are Organic, Fair Trade, and non-GMO certified; but our commitment to environmental and ethical practices goes above and beyond certifications. We source exclusively from indigenous farming families that grow guayusa in sustainable, biodiverse forest gardens. Together we’re pioneering a new way to do business in the Amazon.

 

When and why did you start your business?

RUNA was founded in 2009, with the mission of sharing energizing, rich-tasting guayusa (tea) with the world –while simultaneously respecting cultural traditions, supporting small farmers, and maintaining the integrity of the Amazon rainforest.

What does sustainability mean to you?

To me, it means making conscious choices on a daily basis that will have a positive impact on the current state of the environment.

 

What is one thing readers can do to lighten their footprint?

Question ALL products that they use and the food that they eat. Stay educated, informed, curious, hopeful, and open-minded. We all can make a difference.
